Mo Williams – Unrestricted – 2012-2013 Salary $8,500,000
Mo had an up and down year since he missed 36 games due to injury. He started the year a little shaky, playing well in games and then disappearing for others. When he plays well, though, he is very good. Refer back to him nailing a 3 over Danny Green at the buzzer to sink the Spurs.
The injury didn’t hurt as bad as people would have thought though, as I mentioned earlier, Jamaal Tinsley filled in nicely in the starting role. Mo came back though and the offense sped up, which was good, because when the Jazz ran, the Jazz were better. I don’t think the thumb injury ever got to 100% though. Mo turned the ball over and didn’t score the ball as well as the Jazz would have hoped. This off-season rest will help with the thumb issue and he should be 100% by the start of training camp.
With that said, Jazz management loves him and most likely will bring him back. Mo said that he would like to finish out his career with the Jazz. I think the Jazz re-sign him, but for less money than he got last season. I don’t think he will get over $8 Million for any team next year. He will most likely return as the starter next season.
Result : Re-sign
