Jazz insider reveals how Collin Sexton feels about Will Hardy

This should clarify if there's any beef between them.

Will Hardy made a rather curious decision seconds before the Utah Jazz would go on to lose to the Los Angeles Lakers. Just as it appeared like Collin Sexton had scored the go-ahead basket in the closing seconds, head coach Will Hardy called a timeout.

The Jazz then lost, which caused many to question what Hardy was thinking. It remains up in the air if Sexton truly would have gotten that shot up since Anthony Davis was right there and heard the referees' whistle hence never made a play on it.

Regardless, while Sexton was clearly frustrated in the moment, he defended Hardy's playcalling after the game.

“I don’t blame him (Hardy) at all,” Sexton told reporters, per The Athletic's Tony Jones. “The Lakers made a different adjustment to guard our last play and we didn’t counter it fast enough. That’s why we didn’t get a good shot off. So that was the really tough part about it. It was going to be a great coaching call, but they sniffed it out. I was frustrated, but this is no different than coach if he pulls me out of a game and screams and yells. I know it’s not coming from a bad place.

“In this situation, coach did what was best for the team. So, there’s no fault or blame anywhere. Sometimes, you live and you learn. It happens.”

It was a frustrating loss, especially since Sexton could have been the hero in an impressive win, but in the long run, it's a loss that many will forget about eventually.

However, many questioned around that time if Sexton likes playing under Hardy, but that was quickly snuffed out by Jones himself

Sexton loves playing under Hardy

Jones explained via his X account how Sexton truly feels about playing under Hardy.

He also explained why Sexton feels that way about Hardy.

He added that Sexton's progress isn't entirely because of Hardy's tutelage.

Sexton's words after the game echo this sentiment that there are no hard feelings between them. He came to the Jazz known for being a scorer, but since then, he's evolved as an all-around player for Utah in the two-plus years he's been with the team.

Now, what remains to be seen is if Sexton is part of their future. The Jazz are trying to get their younger guards like Keyonte George and Isaiah Collier more reps, which slightly gets in the way of Sexton's playing time.

Even so, he's been a good sport since Day 1 with the Jazz. Whether he's part of their next playoff team or not, Sexton has made it clear that he does not put himself ahead of the team.
