Ranking the 10 best former Utah Jazz players in the 2023 playoffs
By Jared Koch
8. Royce O’Neale (BKN)
Like Ingles, O’Neale was a staple piece of the Jazz playoff runs of recent. After being dealt for a first-round pick last offseason, O’Neale continues to show his impact for the Nets this season.
In 76 games, O’Neale averaged 8.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, all while having a nice impact on the defensive end as well. A player with his skillset can find a place on most if not all teams with playoff aspirations.
O’Neale at the beginning of this season was starting for the Nets alongside Kyrie and KD when they were still in town. While he’s since found a role on the bench since their departure, his impact should still be able to be noticed in Brooklyn’s upcoming series against Philadelphia.
7. Jae Crowder (MIL)
Amongst everyone on this list, Jae Crowder has most likely had the most interesting season of them all.
Crowder started this season on the Suns’ roster, however, he didn’t play a game with the team all season. Instead, Crowder requested a trade from Phoenix after not receiving a contract extension. He then proceeded to stick around on the Suns’ roster for about five months but did not take the floor for a single minute.
At the trade deadline, Crowder was traded to the Bucks as a part of the massive four-team trade sending Kevin Durant to the Suns. He’s since played 18 games for the Bucks, still proving he can be a valuable role player to a team with championship aspirations.
Crowder has averaged 6.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on an astounding 43.8% shooting from beyond the arc. We’ll see if Jae can continue to keep these numbers up to make his third-ever NBA Finals with the Bucks.
