10. Joe Ingles (MIL)
After eight seasons in Utah, Joe Ingles decided to leave this past offseason to join the Milwaukee Bucks. A good decision for him looking back, as the Bucks are now the 1-seed in the East, while the Jazz are currently looking at the Wembanyama sweepstakes.
Ingles, who’s 35 years old at this point, is in the final stages of his career, turning 36 in October. You can’t expect him to contribute a ton to a contending team at this point. What he can provide though is some great outside shooting.
This season, Ingles has continued to be a reliable shooter like he has been his entire, averaging 41% from three in his 4.4 attempts per game. Along with the playoff experience Joe holds from his time with the Jazz, a player like Joe can prove to be extremely helpful at this point in the season.
While you aren’t ever going to expect elite defense or heavy minutes from Joe Ingles, his services as a “stand in the corner and knock a few threes down a game” kind of guy is good enough to net him top 10.
9. Trey Lyles (SAC)
After being drafted 12th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, Lyles never really found his footing with the Jazz in the two years playing in Utah. However, Lyles has been able to find a nice role with the Kings this offseason coming off the bench.
Lyles this season has averaged a respectable 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in his 74 games off the bench. While those stats may not jump off the page, considering how well the Kings have overperformed this season, something’s been clicking.
Trey may have some tough assignments when it comes time to play the Warriors in the second round, but if the Kings have shown anything this season, it’s that they’re not afraid of any challenge.
