Utah Jazz: Most intriguing individual matchups series – Southeast Division
The ‘Most Intriguing Individual Matchups’ series wraps up with a look at which Utah Jazz players will present the most exciting battle against each team in the Southeast Division.
We’ve almost made it, Utah Jazz fans.
Oh, you thought I was talking about made it to the start of the 2019-20 NBA regular season? Well, that’s true as well and might be a little more exciting than what I was going to say, but I had something else in mind.
We’ve almost made it all the way through the 2019 edition of The J-Notes Most Intriguing Individual Matchups series.
OK, so not as epic as the season actually getting underway, but hey, it’s something, right? And in case you missed any of the previous chapters of the series (or if you stumbled upon this piece by accident and have no clue what I’m talking about), you’re in luck because I’ve included them all here below:
Now we move on to the final division left to cover – the Southeast. Unfortunately, the one I’ve left for last may also be considered by some to be the least. Last season, the Southeast Division produced only one playoff team, the Orlando Magic, and even then they were just the seventh seed and earned only one postseason victory.
Meanwhile, due to changes across the NBA landscape, it may be hard for the division to improve on that number in 2020. Orlando will still have to battle for a spot, and while the Miami Heat presumably got better by adding Jimmy Butler, the Charlotte Hornets got far worse and the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards still very likely will find themselves on the outside looking in.
Nevertheless, even the worst of those squads feature some promising up-and-comers that will still provide spectators with dazzling individual matchups to behold when they face off against the Jazz, so let’s go right ahead and dive into each of those!
