Diante Garrett

Garrett was a nice pickup by the Jazz. He is a prime example of how Jazz management operates and really knows what they are doing. A couple seasons ago, the Jazz did the same thing with Demarre Carrol. Nobody knew who these guys were, yet they bring them in and they become guys that contribute and help the team more than anyone, except for management, expected.

Garrett doesn’t do more than what is asked of him. He comes out and plays within the game and usually makes the right play. However, in the last few weeks, his numbers and shooting percentages have been falling, which is part of the reason Coach Corbin made the move to start playing John Lucas III again.

Garrett is now averaging 3.1 points and 2.4 assists in 14.3 minutes of play, while shooting 37.5% from the field and 36.8% from 3. It was really refreshing to see him come out and manage the team when he first got here, but since then it has really not been as great of a ride for him. Hopefully he can improve in practice and get back out on the court.
