Earl Watson – Unrestricted – 2012-2013 Salary $2,300,000
Earl is optimistic about everything. He always has a positive outlook on things and tries to keep everyone’s spirits up. However, the Jazz need 3 point guards and I don’t think Earl is one of those 3.
Earl can come in the game and throw the “early oop”, but he can’t shoot the ball. He does play pretty good defense, but he is undersized and gets bullied around by bigger guards that can post him up. He will stand up for his teammates though and isn’t afraid to get in your face. He has positives, but I think the negatives outweigh the positives.
The Jazz need a guard that can handle the ball and can get the ball to open guys, but they also need a guard that can score and that is his downfall. I think the Earl Watson “era” (if there even is such a thing), is over in Utah.
