It was announced in April that the 2008 US Men's Olympic Basketball team, also known as "The Redeem Team," would be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Two esteemed Utah Jazz alumni, Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer, were part of that team and are to be inducted tonight, thus demonstrating that the Jazz clearly built themselves up during that time.

While Williams and Boozer likely won't make the Hall of Fame based on their individual accomplishments, this is glory that they definitely earned, as they played a role in Team USA redeeming itself after a humiliating loss at the Olympics four years prior.
Those two weren't selected by the USA just because they were stars, but also because of how well they played together when they played for the Jazz. They may not have been among the NBA's best duos, but they were pretty close.

Those Jazz teams with Williams and Boozer were really, really good. They are responsible for the Jazz's only Western Conference Finals appearance without Karl Malone or John Stockton in franchise history. They will likely be forgotten by NBA audiences because they never reached the highest level of the NBA, but Jazz fans remember them, and for good reason.
Boozer was the most high-profile free agent addition the Jazz have ever had, and he gave them their money's worth from 2004 to 2010. Williams was a prized lottery pick who developed into one of the NBA's best point guards when he was at the top of his game in Utah. For those reasons, they are among the most memorable Jazzmen ever.
And it's clear how much they remember Utah, as Boozer now works for the Jazz and Williams still has a house in Utah all these years later.
At least their basketball contributions will be immortalized
Williams and Boozer may not get the honor of making the Basketball Hall of Fame as players, but they were at least part of something that will always be remembered by basketball fans for years to come. Williams was the team's backup point guard, while Boozer was like the last big man on their depth chart, but that still counts for a lot.
They helped bring the gold medal back home to the USA during a time when the country had something to prove. Fans can laugh at the fact that Team USA is typically loaded with the NBA's very best players compared to their competition, but the Olympics is a different beast. To see them win, and win in spectacular fashion, is truly special.
Even if this doesn't directly involve the Jazz, it shows that they built a winner the right way with those two leading the way.
