The Utah Jazz took down the Oklahoma City Thunder, getting a measure of revenge on the squad who helped kick off their eight-game skid. Starting with the Thunder's win over the Jazz 10 games ago, the Jazz went on a 2-6 skid, losing three games in a row twice over that span. The Jazz have seemingly righted the ship, winning back-to-back games over the Thunder and the Milwaukee Bucks, and doing so with defense.
In both games, Kris Dunn and Walker Kessler stepped up big for the Jazz, with Kessler controlling the fourth quarter against the Bucks and Dunn handing the Thunder their butts. Dunn alone had four steals and three blocks, absolutely shutting down the Thunder across all four quarters.
The pair were huge for holding off the Thunder's surge and getting the squad back to .500, and a 26-26 record on the season. It wasn't just the defense that had a major fourth quarter either, as rookie Keyonte George once again stepped up in a big way.
George went 2-4 from three in the fourth quarter and had a timely block as well on Jalen Williams that helped keep the Thunder from closing the gap. George's improvement should be noted, as he's starting to make plays without the ball in his hands, and that's going to be how he turns around his season. He can run past just about anyone but his ability to hit three-pointers and play good defense are going to be the reasons why he gets more playing time.
All in all the Jazz are now 4-3 in their last seven and are ramping things up. The NBA Trade Deadline is Thursday at 3 P.M. EST and the Utah Jazz are expected to be major players at the deadline, trading for and dealing for some interesting names.
