The Minnesota Timberwolves have some players that the Utah Jazz fandom should keep an eye on.

The Utah Jazz are off to the land of ten thousand lakes, as the Salt Lake heroes venture north to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Jazz are 2-4 and struggling to not only play defense, an issue we thought was possible, but also score. Something this team gave us no fair warning about. The team is loaded with scorers yet poor play from the guards has hampered the team, leaving the Jazz to be unable to keep up with their counterparts.

The Timberwolves are treading water right now at 2-2. Not good enough to be an elite team in the West but not bad enough to warrant shipping out someone like Karl Anthony-Towns. The Wolves are watching their franchise big struggle to score, and the focus now seems to be more and more on Edwards as the face of the franchise.

With both teams in the middle of rough spots at the moment, it’s going to be interesting to see who comes out of this one. The Jazz and Wolves tip off on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 8 PM ET but before the game starts, here’s who we should keep an eye on.

Anthony Edwards

He’s hitting 46% of his shots on the year from the floor while hitting at a clip of over 50% from three. Edwards has been defiant in his scoring, letting just about no one stop him. The young guard averages nearly 26 points per game and has been the driving force for this team’s offense all season. With how bad the guards have been for the Jazz, expect Edwards to have a big night.

Rudy Gobert

We are by no means Rudy Gobert apologists but the Wolves aren’t struggling because of him. They’re struggling because of Towns. Gobert is still a good defender, maybe even a top one in the league, and he’s giving the Wolves the best defensive support of anyone on the team. He’s going to be a problem for the Jazz to deal with.

Naz Reid

The Utah Jazz have a real gem in Naz Reid. While he’s at best a solid defender, he’s a heck of a player for the T-Wolves. He’s an undersized center at 6’9, but he’s quite capable of shooting the ball. He’s averaging 16 points on the season so far and has incredible shooting splits to start things off, .558/.421/1.000. Reid’s going to be fun to watch but tough to guard.
