The new court design for the Utah Jazz is stellar and we want it all year round

The in-season tournament is stupid, but the new court for the Utah Jazz is incredible.

Not everyone is fans of the in-season tournament. It’s a brand new, yet terrible idea, by NBA commissoiner Adam Silver to try and generate even more interest in the NBA. It’s likely to backfire due to the awards not being worth too much for the victors, but it’s here and we have to deal with it. And deal with it the Utah Jazz are doing, because they are taking the approach of “only worry about what you can control”.

And they’re controlling a lot, apparently. The Jazz released their concept for the special in-season tournament awards and man, we’re excited. Not for the silly, meaningless tournament, no, but for the sleek and bombastic purple court design the Jazz are going to be rocking for the specility games.

Every one of the NBA teams will feature a brand new court design just for the in-season tournament but few have the dynamic design that the Jazz do.

Adorned in purple with the team’s state etched across the center, this design harkens back to the 90s and the classic purple attire that the Karl Malone and John Stockton led Jazz clubs used to rock. Just modified a little so it’s not so straining on the eyes.

It’s easily the best looking court that the league’s teams have created, and since the purple that the team uses lends itself to a nice sleak finish, that was alwasy going to be the case.

Ironically, the only court that really rivals the Jazz’s is in fact the New Orleans Pelicans, who are using a deep, dark blue and a bright vibrant green; a color scheme they should fully embrace moving forward as their current color scheme of navy blue, red and gold is quite terrible.

Next. The Utah Jazz would like to know what has been up with Walker Kessler?. dark
