The Utah Jazz defeated the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.

The Utah Jazz continued their winning ways on Wednesday night, defeating the Denver Nuggets soundly in Summer League action. The Jazz are now 3-0 and have a good shot of making the four-team playoff this weekend. A major reason for their success so far has been on guys like Ochai Abgaji and Luka Samanic, who have played very well this year.

For Samanic, he’s playing for his contract, as he’s on a non-guaranteed deal at the moment. For Agabji, a bigger role in the team heading into the season. So it’s not surprising that they continue to pop up across the Summer League in Las Vegas and in the round of games that were hosted in Utah at the start of July.

You shouldn’t be surprised to see either man’s name after the Nuggets victory. Yet, the third name may surprise you. So who did end up as the Jazz’s top three after this impressive victory?

Micah Potter

Micah Potter had a great outing despite his limited shot selection. He went 2-5 from the field, and 1-4 from three, but he did have 10 rebounds and two assists. Normally this isn’t “top three” worthy but this was an odd game in terms of production and efficiency.

Luka Samanic

It’s fair to say that Samanic is doing everything he can to warrant a spot on the team going forward, but a rotation spot. He had 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block, all while going 6-12 from the field. He shot a less impressive 2-6 from three, but considering how well he played overall, that can be given a pass. He’ll need to work on that heading into the season, however.

Ochai Agbaji

Outside of Agbaji’s big defensive stop, you’d be forgiven if you didn’t think he had the best defensive night. He had a -11 BPm, but he did have a solid night shooting. 14 points, on 5-13 shooting, going 3-9 from three, while pulling in seven rebounds and two assists isn’t a terrible night. His block and steal show that he has the capability to impact the defense more than he did as a rookie.
