Utah Jazz dud: Mike Conley

Conley’s game last night has us feeling like Bart Simpson at the chalkboard. We will not worry about Mike Conley. We will not worry about Mike Conley. We will not worry about Mike Conley.

We probably don’t need to. He’d been in a slump, and he’d broken out of it, and then last night, he plunged back into it. In all likelihood, he’ll work his way out again.

In the meantime, he finished with 8 points on 2/12 shooting from the field and 4 assists. He was practically invisible for the majority of the game. He rightfully deferred to a hot Clarkson. Realistically, if he’d just knocked down 3 more field goal attempts, he wouldn’t be here.

He did not, so he is. Conley will need to shoot more efficiently for the Utah Jazz to make a deep postseason run. Luckily, there’s still ample time for him return to his normal level of consistency.

After all, the Utah Jazz are looking otherwise poised to make that sort of run. They’ve now won three of their last four contests.
