Utah Jazz stud: Jordan Clarkson

What can we say here that hasn’t already been said.

It’s the dog days of the NBA season. The questions we’d formed throughout the season are either answered or unanswerable. We don’t know if Jordan Clarkson is a good fit alongside Donovan Mitchell.

There have been a few Utah Jazz games in which both men performed well. More often than not, it seems like one explodes while the other disappears. They’re both small, they’re both ball dominant, etc, etc, etc…

One thing we do know for certain: Clarkson gets buckets when the Jazz need him to.

Specifically, when Mitchell is unavailable. That was the case last night, and Clarkson characteristically delivered. The league’s reigning Sixth Man of the Year finished with 20 points, 8 boards and 5 assists. He shot 8/17 from the field and 2/5 from downtown.

Clarkson is an archetypical microwave scorer. Players like him tend to look like either All-Stars or reserves depending on the given night. That’s fine. It’s only problematic when the best player on their team is similarly built.

We’ve beaten this dead horse for so long that it’s concerning the neighbors. Whether Clarkson is an ideal fit with Mitchell or not, he’s a dynamic offensive player. He had his gifts on display in last night’s contest.
