Dwyane Wade is no stranger to catching heat about his Utah Jazz allegiance.

By all accounts, Candace Parker and Dwyane Wade are pals. They sure provide an enjoyable on-air connection during regular NBA on TNT appearances. But their friendship didn’t stop the 35-year-old WNBA great from teasing the 39-year-old Utah Jazz minority owner about his Instagram post on Thursday.

The post’s pics and video show Wade soaking in the good life while courageously deciding to dive from the top of a multi-level superyacht. The retired three-time NBA champion typed this accompanying note:

“There’s no going back !”

The splash, though, was from an upright position. And there was minimal showmanship involved. Naturally, hitting the water feet first after zero in-air acrobatics represents the most cautious route — outside of just remaining on the boat, of course.

Therefore, the safety-first jump opened the door for hecklers like Parker. Commenting on Wade’s post, she fired off only one observation:

“The old Dwade would have flipped…you acting different since owning a team.”

Value of Dwyane Wade with the Utah Jazz

In April, Dwyane Wade, a frequent golfing partner to Utah Jazz majority owner Ryan Smith, purchased a stake in the franchise. That move stirred confusion among many outside fanbases — particularly of the Miami Heat variety.

However, from that point forward, the former Heat guard’s courtside presence at Jazz games seemed to energize two-time All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell as Wade appeared to embrace a fun-loving mentor role.

On that note, having Wade close at hand for guidance across the entire 2021-22 season should be a bonus for Utah — regardless of any related ragging he may have to endure from Candace Parker and the like along the way.
