Rudy Gobert may never be a stretch five and, frankly, you probably don’t want him to be given his abilities as a rim-roller and finisher. However, the Jazz could definitely use a big man with the long ball in his arsenal, and Mike Muscala could be that guy in a reserve role.

Over six years and more than 300 games in the Association, Muscala has knocked down better than 36 percent of his shots from distance. Just about every team in the league would like to have a big man who can hit at that rate.

After earning $5 million last season, there’s also a chance the Jazz could coax the unrestricted free agent over to Salt Lake City. However, the LA Lakers should also be motivated to keep him in town given their financial crunch following the Anthony Davis deal.

In any case, he’s a player worth looking into. And, at 27 years old, he could be a long-term rotational guy as opposed to a one-year, plug-and-play piece at the end of your bench.
