Taurean Prince

Taurean Prince should automatically intrigue the Jazz simply because he attended Baylor University. That’s where Royce O’Neale and Ekpe Udoh played college ball, and it’s also where GM Dennis Lindsey’s son currently plays.

Prince has really developed into a good player, though he’s battled some injuries this year with the Atlanta Hawks. I won’t lie. I think Prince has the potential to become a poor man’s Kawhi Leonard. It isn’t the Kawhi Leonard, but even the poor man’s version is extremely good.

This guy is a terrific defender and a solid three-point shooter. At this stage, he’s still considered a three-and-D type of player. If he can create his own shot more often and score off the dribble, his offensive game could explode.

Shams Charania of The Athletic recently suggested Atlanta could trade Prince. Guys like Kevin Huerter and DeAndre Bembry have really played well for the Hawks, which could make Prince expandable. The Hawks also have a chance at landing a top pick and potentially grabbing Zion Williamson, which would leave Prince out of the picture.

Atlanta probably isn’t desperate to trade Prince whatsoever, but if they were, you could be able to snag Prince for a draft pick and Thabo Sefolosha. Trading Derrick Favors back to his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia would be more realistic in this scenario. To do that, the Jazz would have to take on another contract, like Miles Plumlee‘s.
