Terry Rozier

If the Boston Celtics really want to get rid of Terry Rozier, I think a clean swap with Grayson Allen would be perfect. The Celtics really liked Grayson during the draft process, and very well could have selected him, had Utah not picked him at No. 21.

It would make sense for the Jazz because they’re getting the better player and potentially a point guard of the future in Rozier. They’d still have to re-sign him, but I don’t think that would be a problem. Rozier showed flashes last season that he can be a starting point guard in this league. He’s had a down year, partly because he’s letting his ego overtake his role, but he’d be well worth the risk. I still believe he’ll be ready to be a starter soon.

Can you imagine a back-court of Rozier and Donovan Mitchell? They’re both under-sized for their respective positions, but they make up for it with unreal athleticism and length. Rozier is 6-foot-1 with a 6-foot-8 wingspan. Mitchell is 6-foot-3 with a 6-foot-10 wingspan.

Grayson Allen has unfortunately had a disappointing rookie campaign. As a 23-year old rookie, I think he should be playing much better. He hasn’t played much, but he’s surely gotten more opportunities than other rookies or second-year players in the league. Just look at Tony Bradley. To be frank, I’d trade Allen for Rozier in a heart-beat if the Celtics were willing to do it.

If Allen isn’t enough by himself, you could attach a 2nd round draft pick to try to get the deal done. Personally, I would love this trade for the Jazz.
