The Utah Jazz hit all the right notes Wednesday night and avenged their recent loss to the Miami Heat with a blowout win on their home floor.

The Utah Jazz came into their battle with the Miami Heat with a chip on the shoulders. After surrendering a 19-point lead against the Heat in their last matchup, as well as losing their last two games on a road back-to-back, the Jazz weren’t about to let this one slip away.

Thus, the Jazz came out with a much-needed sense of urgency that propelled them to a 111-84 win in front of their home crowd. It was their third-straight blowout victory at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

From the opening tip, the Jazz came out firing on all cylinders; getting consecutive stops on the defensive end and shooting the ball at an impressive clip. After just over six minutes of play the Jazz had compiled an 18-point lead and a sluggish Heat outfit failed to mount any sort of comeback.

The Jazz went on to extend their lead to 39 by the end of the third quarter and strolled to a 27-point win at the final buzzer. Donovan Mitchell led the way for Utah offensively coming away with 21 points. Derrick Favors had another impressive performance coming off the bench, pouring in 17 points on an efficient 7-of-8 from the field.

Miami’s defense failed to stay attached to Kyle Korver who made them pay with 16 points on 6-of-9 from the field and 4-of-5 from downtown.

In the midst of a hellacious schedule, wins such as this hold tremendous value. No Jazz player exceeded 26 minutes played and locker room morale should be high as the Jazz head out on yet another trip.

For Heat fans, there were very few positives to take away from this one. But as Jazz fans know all too well, ugly losses can be expected when you’re on the fourth game of a long road trip. Utah will look to take this momentum into Mexico City where the Orlando Magic await. Let’s see if the Jazz can consolidate on this performance with another big win.
