Utah Jazz: Mitchell, O’Neale and Niang all to attend USU Football game
Donovan Mitchell, and a pair of his Utah Jazz teammates Royce O’Neale and Georges Niang, will be in attendance at this Saturday’s Utah State football game.
In recent weeks, speculation has been high that Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell could very well be in attendance at Utah State’s upcoming football game against Air Force on Saturday. Well, after receiving a tantalizing offer, including the chance to be an honorary captain and receive a custom-made U-State jersey, it appears the speculation is over.
Spida is headed to Logan.

But the best news is that Mitchell won’t be going alone, he’ll be joined by teammates Royce O’Neale and Georges Niang. Niang himself made as much quite clear in the video below–
As if there wasn’t already enough reason to go see an exciting and talented Utah State Football team led by rising quarterback Jordan Love open up Mountain West play on ESPN, Aggie fans should really be motivated to #PackTheMav now.
Not only will the trio of Jazz players be in attendance at the game, but it looks like the USU Football Equipment staff has set them up royally, with each one set to receive their own custom jersey. Check it out for yourself below–
The University of Utah similarly provided Donovan Mitchell with some custom threads when he came to their contest against University of Washington. While it suited him well, it did look a little awkward when he was the only one of five Jazzmen in attendance that was decked out in Ute crimson. Fortunately, Utah State decided to ensure that the whole squad that would be in attendance was taken care of.
As a USU alum, all I can say is that the Aggie faithful better not disappoint the trio of Jazzmen. It’s pretty rare for them to be graced by the presence of such high-profile figures, particularly someone of the stature of Donovan Mitchell, so hopefully Utah State fans will be out in droves to support their team and show Mitchell and Co. just how passionate of a fanbase they really are.
It’s so awesome to see Mitchell continuing to bring Jazz fans from across the state together. I’m sure that the Jazz/Aggie fans in Logan will make sure his stay is a memorable one. And hopefully the Aggies come away with a big-time conference opening win.
