Donovan Mitchell’s fame continues to grow as the Utah Jazz star was featured in the latest trailer for the upcoming NBA 2K19 video game.

As hard as it might be to believe, I’d almost go as far as to say that Donovan Mitchell‘s popularity has grown even more during the offseason than during the regular season. Even though he turned into a major star for the Utah Jazz during his rookie campaign, he’s grabbed so many headlines this summer that he’s felt like an almost constant star.

From winning an ESPY, to receiving props for paying to repair a young fan’s phone, to hitting home runs in a charity softball game, to giving shoes to a girl undergoing treatment at Primary Children’s Hospital, to working out at a training camp put on by Dwyane Wade, Mitchell has been all over the place. And that’s just mentioning the tip of the iceberg.

But as the season draws nearer and expectations for Mitchell’s second year in the NBA continue to rise, his popularity and acclaim only seem to grow. Such has been reinforced yet again as Mitchell found himself yet again on the national stage. How did he do it this time, you ask? By being featured in the latest trailer for the upcoming NBA 2K game.

Check it out yourself in the video below at about the 21-second mark, as well as in the GIF under that, which was put out on the Utah Jazz Twitter.

Seeing Mitchell, an undoubtedly recognizable rising star, might not come as that big of a surprise to many. But when considering how frequently the Jazz organization tends to be overlooked in these kinds of productions, it’s actually a pretty big deal for him to be featured in such a way. In trailers past, the Jazz have been lucky to be included at all, and if they were it was likely in a not so flattering light, such as on the wrong end of a dunk.

But those days are gone now that Donovan Mitchell is in Utah. He’s established himself as a star both on and off the court, and he and the Jazz organization are going to reap the rewards as a result. That means more exposure, more coverage and more praise for the team.

And ideally in 2018-19, it will mean expanded success for a squad that appears on the verge of breaking out in a big way.
