Alec Burks – Prove playoff burst was no fluke

Regardless of your opinion on Alec Burks, you have to admit that the guy has been a consummate pro. Despite dealing with several injuries and falling out of the rotation a number of times, he always seems to be positive, prepared and respectful to the Jazz organization. Due to misfortunes that have come his way, he could have become disgruntled on a number of occasions.

Instead, he’s simply carried on and was crucial for the Jazz in the 2018 NBA Playoffs. Surprising though it may sound due to his limited impact during the regular season, there were times in the series against the Houston Rockets when AB was the best Jazz player on the court. When he played in control and was disciplined, looking to make the right basketball play rather than to just get his own, he was actually very effective.

The Jazz rotation will be crowded and it will be tough for Burks to find a way in. However, in those particular matchups where the Jazz need a shot creator, they’ll need to be able to turn to Alec. Therefore, it will be imperative that he remain ready, and when he is called upon, he needs to produce, proving that his play in the postseason was no fluke.

If the Jazz can rely on Burks to provide quality minutes off the bench when needed, it will be an enormous win for both sides.
