The Utah Jazz’s City Edition jerseys, inspired by the red rocks and sunsets of Southern Utah, will return next season.

There’s no denying that the Utah Jazz have looked pretty good on the hardwood recently. Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves was particularly appealing to the eye. Utah’s stifling D coupled with an offensive explosion led to a big-time win in Ricky Rubio‘s revenge game, as well as a jump in the West standings.

However, it’s not just the team’s play that’s been must-see TV. The gradient-colored City Edition uniforms the Jazz have been sporting are the real lookers. Polarizing though they may have been in the beginning, fans have come to embrace them in a major way.

So much so, in fact, that the jerseys will apparently remain in the team’s rotation going forward.

According to an announcement from the Jazz, the non-traditional kits inspired by the red rocks and sunsets of Southern Utah will return next season.

The team also revealed that the City Edition court will be used during the Utah Jazz Summer League in July.

Last week, news of a purple throwback jersey made the rounds as well. However, the Jazz have yet to make an official statement on that front.

One thing is certain, though — the gradient jerseys have been a major hit. Not only have they been the fastest-selling kits in team history, but the limited supply has created an aftermarket that is making boo-koo bucks for third-party sellers.

At one point, Donovan Mitchell‘s No. 45 City Edition jerseys were fetching hundreds of dollars via online retailers like eBay.

I, for one, prefer the team’s gold Statement Edition jerseys. I also think the City duds should still incorporate the Jazz part of the equation. Seriously, can we throw a J-Note on there somewhere, please?

That said, even a critic like me can’t deny that the team has caught lightning in a bottle here.

Said Bart Sharp, the Jazz’s senior vice president of marketing —

"“New design and color schemes can be initially polarizing to a fan base, but we have been overwhelmed at the favorable response to these uniforms that represent a special part of our state. We are excited to bring back this southern Utah version of the Nike uniform collection for next season and we will introduce different looks in the future.”"

If you’re looking to get in on the City Edition craze now, you may be in luck. You won’t have to resort to shady, back-alley transactions either.

The Jazz revealed that they’ll be holding a drawing this week to give people a chance to get a jersey of their own. Fans can go HERE to register, after which they’ll be selected at random to purchase jerseys for a 48-hour period beginning at 12:01 AM MT on April 3.
