The golden boy has returned… at least for now.

The player the Utah Jazz thought they were trading for this offseason may have finally arrived. Ricky Rubio’s last week has included a game-winning three against a tough Toronto team and a 23-point, 11-assist and five-rebound game against the defending champion Warriors.

Not a bad week, right?

Aside from the recent heroics, Rubio has proven to be the key to Utah’s success. Rubio is averaging a cool 14 points and nearly six assists in Utah wins this year. Those numbers fall to just over nine points and four assists in losses.

Long story short, the Jazz are at their best when Rubio is paying well. The good news for the Jazz is that he has done just that as of late. Rubio’s play has also helped to dispel the calls that Rubio couldn’t play alongside Gobert. Both players have seemed to fair just fine as of late.
