Kyle Korver

Early into the offseason, there was some speculation that perhaps Utah could target former Jazzman Kyle Korver as a nice bench piece to add to their mix. However, that hope was effectively squashed on Sunday as Korver came to an agreement to re-sign with the defending Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers who he joined midway through last season.

Korver will be on a friendly 3-year, $22 million deal to continue to serve as a sharp-shooter for the Cavs. Given the current state of the Eastern Conference, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Korver and his Cavalier teammates make a return to the NBA Finals once again in 2017-18 and hopefully he can be somewhat more productive this time around.

Given that he is 36 years old, it will be interesting to see how effective Korver is in the final year of this deal. His three-point shooting has been legendary for much of his career and he along with the Cavs will have to hope that it remains at a high enough level for him to be able to stay on the court despite likely declines in other areas.
