Shelvin Mack

Barring a major surprise wherein the Utah Jazz opt to bring Shelvin Mack back to shore up their backup point guard position, it’s a near certainty that he will not be returning to the Jazz next season. Although he was disappointing to Jazz fans in some regards, he’s still a very serviceable backup that could provide meaningful minutes for the right team.

So far, the team that has been connected to Mack the most has been the New York Knicks who, according to several reports, are expressing interest in him. The Knicks aren’t exactly an ideal landing place given the current state of the franchise and their minimal chances of making the playoffs, but they could potentially provide Shelvin with ample playing time and a chance to further prove himself.

Although it’s certainly time for the Jazz to move on from him, I wish Mack nothing but success in his future endeavors, be it with the Knicks or elsewhere.
