Darren Collison

Finally, the Sacramento Kings are another team that has hinted at being quite active around the trade deadline. While several teams will look to pry DeMarcus Cousins away from Sacramento, the organization has made it clear that they don’t intend to move him.

However, one name that has been mentioned quite frequently has been that of point guard Darren Collison. Collison has long been a solid player who has found success by doing whatever is asked of him on the teams he’s played for. He’s both started and come off the bench and therefore could be an excellent asset for Utah’s second unit that is in need of a more steadying force at the point.

At 13.1 points per game on 48.1 percent shooting from the field and an electrifying 42.4 percent shooting from deep,  there’s no questioning that Collison would be an upgrade for the Jazz.

With the Kings looking quite willing to make a change and Collison able to fill a pressing weakness, this is a move that I would love to see the Jazz pursue quite seriously.

Verdict: Green Light

Of course there’s also the very plausible chance that the Jazz opt to simply stand pat at the trade deadline and stay the course with their current group of guys. Despite their disheartening three-game losing streak, the Jazz still find themselves right in the thick of the Western Conference playoff mix with a record of 34-22.

However, even beyond their recent slump, it’s been quite apparent all season that the Jazz are in need of a boost if they hope to make any noise come playoff time and especially with a handful of Jazzmen looking more and more as if they don’t truly belong on this Utah roster, I would be happy to see the Jazz get aggressive and explore these and other trade options.

So what do you think, Jazz fans? Should the team go for any of these players or others supposedly on the trading block? Or would you be content to see them stay the course? Let me know in the comments below or hit me up on Twitter.
