For the third straight summer, Kyle Anderson will be participating on the Spurs summer league team. Anderson was a regular in the Spurs rotation last season as he played in 78 games. It may have been his dominating performance in last year’s Las Vegas summer league that helped Anderson solidify his spot in the rotation.
Anderson finished third in scoring with a 21 point per game average. The Spurs finished with a 6-1 record and they won the summer league championship. For his efforts, Simmons won the Las Vegas Summer League MVP and was named to the All-NBA Summer League First Team.
At 22-years of age, Anderson will continue to be a major contributor for the Spurs for a long time. While his role may still need to be determined, he will deserve as much playing time as he did on last season’s 67 win team.
