2) Gordon Hayward Needs to Get It Going
Last season was something of a breakout year for the Jazz star and, after working hard and bulking up over the summer, Jazz Nation was expecting Hayward to take that next step into stardom. We’re only 10 games into the season, but the early returns have been a mixed bag at best.
Hayward’s scoring is down to 15.7 points per game and his field goal percentage has dropped below the 40 percent mark. Despite being surrounded by more talent and playing in Coach Snyder’s system, he has resembled the Hayward of 2013-14 that struggled to shoulder the load at times as a go-to option.
So is it time to hit the panic button? Not by a long shot. However, if the Jazz are to make a return to postseason play this year, Hayward needs to get it going and do so sooner rather than later.
