The Top Five Power Forwards in Utah Jazz History
By Greg Foster
No. 4) Derrick Favors
Give Derrick a few more years and he’ll be higher on this list. I promise.
At only 24-years-old, Derrick Favors is already making his case as one of the best power forwards in the NBA. Each season he continues to add both depth and breadth to his game—expanding his range, improving his post prowess and footwork and continually notching better and better numbers.
Derrick has already proved that he’s a matchup nightmare due to his strength, size and quickness. He’s also coming off a career year, posting 16 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks per game, to go along with a 21.86 PER. And based on his propensity to improve, Derrick flirting with a 20-10 season shouldn’t be that eyebrow raising.
If that comes to fruition, we could see Favors donning his first All-Star uniform this February.
