Utah Jazz legend John Stockton isn’t exactly known for being a man about town. Since his retirement from basketball following the 2002-03 season, mum is generally the word on the Hall of Fame point guard’s activities outside of Spokane, Washington. Enter the University of Utah football team.

Currently ranked No. 5 in the AP poll and riding high at 4-0, the Utes and the city of Salt Lake played host to ESPN’s College GameDay program on Saturday. Each week, the GameDay crew and a celebrity guest pick the winners of high-profile games taking place that weekend. This week’s celebrity was none other than the Stockton himself–

To the delight of the crowd that flocked to Presidents Circle on the Utah campus for the proceedings, Stockton sided with the panel of hosts in picking the fifth-ranked Utes to prevail at home over the No. 23 California Golden Bears. The NBA’s all-time leader in assists and steals had this to say about the Utes–

"“I think Sack Lake City is gonna be in full form tonight.”"

I certainly hope so, Mr. Stockton. Cal QB Jared Goff scares me.
