One of the unsung heroes of the Utah Jazz organization is undoubtedly the team’s mascot–the Jazz Bear. While the franchise has assembled an intriguing roster of players, the Bear also plays a huge role in bringing entertainment to the hardwood at EnergySolutions Arena.
On Monday, September 28, the Jazz Bear will take his act to the gridiron for the 12th annual Mascot Bowl in Lehi, Utah.
The charity football game will feature famous mascots from around the sports world, including the Phoenix Suns Gorilla, Burnie of the Miami Heat and Dallas Cowboys mascot Rowdy among others. Lil’ Bear will also participate.
Mascot Bowl will benefit the Bear Hugs for Kids and Firemen and Friends for Kids charities and pits the mascot team against the Lehi eighth-grade football team.
The event will also feature fireworks, performances by the Jazz Dancers, Utah Jazz Stunt Team and Utah Jazz Dunk team, an autograph session and an attempt to catch a football dropped from 400 feet in the air and break Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown’s world record.
For those looking to get in on the action, tickets can be purchased in advance at the Lehi High School financial office or at the gate on gameday for $3.
