20. Toronto Raptors – T.J. Warren, N.C. State

With #20, the Toronto Raptors aren’t expecting to hit a home run, but a single would be nice. I’m not a believer in the Best Player Available mantra, particularly this far into the draft, so I hope GM Masai Ujiri will be looking to plug holes. The Raps could use some help in the front court, which makes Adreian Payne, the Power Forward from Michigan State, a likely choice. If he’s gone, we’re back to swingmen (unless one of the European big men like Kristaps Porzingis or Clint Capela is still around). NC State’s T.J. Warren may be too intriguing to pass up, though Cleanthony Early and Jerami Grant have some fans. Kyle Lowry’s return to Toronto is likely, but not guaranteed, so insurance at point guard is possible. Elfrid Payton out of Louisiana-Lafayette may be on the board.
It’s barely possible that Nik Staukas will have been overlooked; if so, Masai won’t miss the chance to grab the Canadian swingman. Another high-profile countryman, Andrew Wiggins, will be long gone, but Tyler Ennis may come home to become a Raptor.
