DeMarre Carroll – Unrestricted – 2012-2013 Salary $885,120
DeMarre has quickly become a fan favorite in Utah. The small forward was originally drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies, then cut. Then signed by the Denver Nuggets, then cut. Then the Jazz signed him and every fan seen the text, article, press release, etc…and asked themselves, who is this guy and why on earth did we sign him? Carroll has put those questions to rest.
He plays hard on both ends of the floor, night in and night out. His defense is stellar and his jump shot has shown improvement over the last season. He didn’t always get the minutes this season thanks to Corbin’s crazy rotations, but, in his own words, he continued to just stay a “true professional” and stayed ready when his number was called.
He has said that he wants to be back, and I think Jazz fans would welcome him with open arms. His defense is something we need. His work ethic is contagious and if he can get the minutes off the bench, on a consistent basis every night, he could be a huge contributor to the team.
