Vernon Maxwell will always troll both the Utah Jazz and their fanbase if the opportunity presents itself. Well, when the Jazz's worst nightmare become a reality, Maxwell was sure to make their fans know it.

When an X user singled out the Jazz's disastrous NBA Draft lottery results, Maxwell said this in response, writing, "God don't play about Mad Max #TakeNote" with a chuckling emoji.

Maxwell's rivalry with the Jazz dates back to his playing days, when he played for the team he's best known for, the Houston Rockets. The Rockets went 2-0 against the Jazz both times Maxwell was on the team. Coincidentally, the Jazz got the upper hand after Maxwell left the Rockets.

Since then, Maxwell has taken countless shots at anything Jazz-related. In recent months, he's fired shots at them for not drafting black players (which is patently false) and at Jazz legend John Stockton.

Odds are, it was damned if you, damned if you don't with Maxwell and the Jazz's draft situation. If they had won the lottery, Maxwell would have probably found a different way to troll them and their fanbase.

There's no need to get worked up about this, as everyone is pretty worked up already. At this point, this is simply what's expected from Maxwell. No matter what the Jazz do, he'll be there to troll.

The Utah Jazz can get the last laugh in this case

It's true that the Jazz got the worst possible outcome at the draft lottery. While all hope is lost regarding their chances of drafting Cooper Flagg and such, that doesn't mean they can't find their next face of the franchise on draft night.

There will still be a pool of talented players that the Jazz can pick with the No. 5 pick. Just because they aren't expected to be a franchise player doesn't mean it's possible they can't get one. Some of the NBA's best players were selected at No. 5 or lower.

Alternatively, the Jazz could trade it for a more established player. It's a little unclear to think of what star players could become available and if Utah has the best offer for them, but the Jazz aren't out of options. Things didn't go their way with the draft lottery, but as hopeless as it may seem, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.

No matter what Vernon Maxwell may say, Jazz fans should be optimistic because even with all that's happened, that's all they can be right now.
