Utah Jazz veteran Jordan Clarkson makes bold claim about Victor Wembanyama

During the Gold Medal Game, Clarkson claimed that Wembanyama will do something no other NBA player has ever done.

It's no secret that Victor Wembanyama could very well turn into one of the NBA's all-time greats. Consider Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson among his believers.

While Wembanyama and Team France took on Team USA during the Olympic Gold Medal Game, Clarkson posted the following on his X account, "Wemby will win every award in the nba one day lol."

Wembanyama has already won the NBA's Rookie of the Year award. All that's left is for him to win Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year.

There are other awards like Teammate of the Year (which Wembanyama may definitely contend for) and Clutch Player of the Year, but that those don't have nearly as much meaning.

Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year could also be within his grasp, but only if he goes that route when his playing career is done. That's probably 20-plus years down the line.

Jordan Clarkson could help Victor Wembanyama & the Spurs

Because Wembanyama is so immensely talented, the odds of the Spurs being a bad team coming into the 2024-25 season are slim to none, as many expect him to take a massive leap in his sophomore season. Since the Spurs are trying to build a winning culture, someone like Clarkson could be an asset to them.

Clarkson is relatively cheap knowing how high the salary cap will go up and can still put the ball in the basket. The problem is that he's coming off an inefficient season. So much so that the Jazz might look at the Clarkson situation and realize that they missed to boat to get rid of him while they still can.

Because teams want to save money, Clarkson isn't going anywhere for the time being, but that can change if the Spurs take another step further and if Clarkson restores some of his value as a player. Even if he's a spark plug, Clarkson did his part to help Utah make some noise in the playoffs.

He can do the same for the Spurs, and what might help him there is playing for someone who he clearly believes in.
