We're releasing our own Mock Drafts and this one should have people talking.

#2 Reed Sheppard - SG (Kentucky)

It was beyond lucky that the Utah Jazz got the second pick in this 2024 NBA Mock Draft. Reed Sheppard is someone who I've had my eye on for some time, and considering what he does best is what the Utah Jazz are in desperate need of, it makes no sense to not take Sheppard.

Sheppard is a three-and-D type of guard, who can handle the ball, shoot and play good defense. He can pull up with the ball in his hand and do a catch-and-shoot style, making him perfect to play alongside either Collin Sexton or Keyonte George. Not only that, but his defense is astounding. Especially for a smaller guard. He may not be a Patrick Beverly-type defender, but the hope is that he comes in and becomes the second-best guard at defense aside from Kris Dunn.

Assuming the Jazz bring back Dunn, which they should absolutely do. Sheppard isn't a very established prospect, and some are wary of his size, but guys who can shoot and play defense usually find success in the NBA, regardless of their size.

Sheppard can be a guy who can help plug holes almost instantly for the Jazz, and that's good enough for me.
