3 Reasons a Walker Kessler bounce back year is good for the Jazz, probably

This offseason has been a bit of a ride for Walker Kessler, from a poor summer league showing to trade rumors. A bounce-back year could be a good thing for the Jazz, and their future. It just can't be too good.

BUT...... a good season could ruin the tank

The Jazz have to hope that if Kessler takes the next step, it isn't too big of a step. It will be hard to have a good record in the first half of the season, but the Jazz still are looking at every way possible to lose games, and an improved Kessler alongside Lauri Markkanen could win some games they shouldn't.

If the Jazz really want a shot at Cooper Flagg, they have to maximize their opportunities to lose. Kessler bouncing back could be a sledgehammer to the knees of that plan and could lead to another season of ho-hummery from the Jazz that gets another low-end lottery pick.

It would be awesome to see Kessler take another step, but not if it means the Jazz will be in the same place they've been for the last two seasons.
