2. Ish Smith - Won a title with the Nuggets in 2023
The Jazz already have plenty of guards on the roster, so potentially adding more on that front seems like a fool's errand. However, there's more to this than adding another NBA champion should they bring in Smith.
If the Jazz signed Smith and kept him on their opening night roster (not likely), they would be his 14th NBA team. He currently holds the record for most NBA teams played for at 13, but adding a 14th would make it harder for someone to catch him, let alone surpass him.
Smith doesn't have much juice left in the tank, but his title experience and the Jazz being his last NBA team give him a rather unique appeal.
3. JaVale McGee - Won titles with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018 and the Lakers in 2020
In all fairness, the Jazz would only entertain this because McGee is one of the NBA's internet memes at this point and not much else.
However, even though he's been laughed at for his reputation as one of the more bizarre NBA players, he is a proven winner. The Warriors and Lakers were completely serious when they added him to their championship rosters, and he held up his end.
Much like Smith, he's one of the older NBA player who wants to stay in the show. A training camp invite could show McGee that he still has a lifeline. Even if his chances of making the team would not be strong.
