Portland Trail Blazers
Arguably the worst crop of free agents a team in the conference has belongs to the Portland Trail Blazers. They have just one unrestricted free agent in Moses Brown, three restricted free agents, and one player with a club option for the 2024-2025 season. By default, we have to go with Brown, who really doesn't jump out at you. He's a net-negative player in every facet of the game and doesn't have a single impressive skillset you can build around. Andre Drummond can at least rebound. JaVale McGee could block shots and play great transition defense. Brown?
He's tall? He's 7'2, so that's a good thing. He's just not that impressive. Ideally, we'd like to get our hands on 24-year-old Dalano Banton. He's got the club option that is likely to be picked up. He can't shoot threes, but he can score inside to an extent and he's a better defender than most on the Trail Blazers' squad. Not a perfect fit by any means but he's the best fit that the team has.
Also, Ibou Badji is a solid defender (+1.9 DBPM on limited time) who's still pretty young (21). So if neither Brown nor Banton is, maybe Badji is the pick.
