Lakers vs. Jazz NBA expert prediction and odds for Saturday, Jan. 13 (Bet Utah at home)
By Peter Dewey
The Utah Jazz have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA as of late, winning four straight and eight of their last 10 to move to .500 on the season.
Now, the Jazz have a matchup with a struggling Los Angeles Lakers team on Saturday. Utah picked up a blowout win against Toronto on Friday night, while the Lakers were blown out themselves by the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.
With several key Lakers players questionable, we could be getting some value on the Jazz as home underdogs.

Lakers vs. Jazz key players to watch
Los Angeles Lakers
Anthony Davis: Anthony Davis is playing some of the best basketball of his career for the Lakers this season, averaging 25.3 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. He’s going to be tough to handle for the Jazz, although Walker Kessler should is a solid defender to throw on Davis tonight.
Utah Jazz
Lauri Markkanen: Markkanen has been terrific shooting the ball this season (49.2 percent from the field, 39.3 percent from 3), and he’s going to be a tough guard for the Lakers. Markkanen – an All-Star last season – has four straight games with at least 20 points (all Jazz wins).
Lakers vs. Jazz prediction and pick
If the Jazz end up playing their usual rotation (and they should be able to after winning big on Friday), I think they’re a great bet to cover – and potentially win outright – on Saturday.
Utah is 10-3 against the spread as a home underdog this season, the second best mark in the NBA.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are just 6-13 straight up on the road, and they’ve had all kinds of issues since winning the league’s In-Season Tournament.
Over the last 10 games, Los Angeles ranks 23rd in the NBA in net rating.
The Jazz? Well they rank No. 4 in the league in that category. I’ll take the points with Utah in this matchup at Delta Center.
