Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks, New York Knicks

As the New York Knicks were bitten by the injury bug, again and again, they made moves to shore up the roster through the season.

Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks were involved in one of those deals, coming over from Detroit and instantly joining a playoff team, instead of finishing their seasons with one of the worst teams in the league.

Bogdanovic had several 20-point games in his first month in the Big Apple and gave them much-needed outside shooting as teams continued to key on Jalen Brunson, in the absence of high-scoring forward Julius Randle. He has another year beyond this on his deal, for $19.2 million.

Burks, on the other hand, is on his second go-around with the Knicks and seems to have fallen out of the rotation. He only cracked double-digit minutes twice in the final 5 games of the season and his role was reduced sharply from what he had in Detroit. He is on an expiring deal at $10.4 million.

Both Bogdanovic and Burks have value for the Knicks as 3-point shooters, able to take pressure off the better Knicks players as needed. Their defensive shortcomings are likely the reason their roles aren't larger, however, and defense always is valued come playoff time. So it will be interesting to see if either carve out a role as the Knicks progress through the Eastern Conference playoffs.
