The Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets are facing off for the second time this month, and there are a couple of prop bets that I’m looking to take advantage of in this matchup. 

Both of these plays hit in the meeting on March 23, and they’re going to be in a favorable spot with playoff position on the line for Houston.

Let’s break down the plays for Friday night’s Western Conference showdown: 

Rockets vs. Jazz best NBA prop bets

  • John Collins OVER 14.5 points
  • Fred VanVleet OVER 25.5 points and assists

John Collins OVER 14.5 points

John Collins has cleared 14.5 points in 10 of his last 12 games, averaging 18.1 points on just 11.6 shots per game. 

The Jazz forward has seen his minutes get cut a bit, but he scored 25 points in less than 20 minutes in the team's game against Houston on March 23. 

If the Jazz can hang around, Collins is going to play more minutes, and regardless he’s gone over this prop in every game since March 20. Houston’s defense on the interior is a little weaker right now without Tari Eason and Alperen Sengun. 

Fred VanVleet OVER 25.5 points and assists

I love this prop for Rockets guard Fred VanVleet who scored 34 points in the win over the Jazz earlier this month. 

FVV is averaging 17.5 points and 8.0 assists per game since the All-Star break, clearing 25.5 points and assists in 10 of those 18 games. 

Utah is one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, tied with Washington for the worst defensive rating in the game. 

Plus, FVV is playing big minutes (over 40 in the win over OKC) as the team chases the No. 10 seed in the West.
