The Utah Jazz have had a rough year and any good news will be appreciated at this point. The team's losing games left and right, they're struggling to see improvement with key players under Will Hardy and stars like Lauri Markkanen are unhappy about the decision to constantly tank. It may seem like a negative slant, but that's just the reality the Jazz are facing.
We want to be optimistic, but with Danny Ainge-led teams, it's fair to be critical. His reputation exceeds his effectiveness, and there's no telling that he has the Jazz's future well in hand. So when we finally get a chance to talk about something good or positive, we're going to.
The Utah Jazz have achieved a rare feat, watching three of their rookies in the same season all achieve a double-double. While not the rare achievement it used to be some time ago, watching Keyonte Georgeg, Brice Sensabaugh, and now Taylor Hendricks all achieve the accolade is pretty good.
Hendricks put his up on March 16, while Sensabaugh achieved his only 10 days earlier on March 6, and George got his first one on Feb. 4 of this year as well.
George achieved his off-the-bench against the Milwaukee Bucks, putting up 19 points and 10 assists. Sensabaugh would follow up with his own double-double against the Chicago Bulls as a member of the starting five, where he had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Finally, Hendricks achieved the feat against the Minnesota Timberwolves, putting up 15 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
George is the only player to break that threshold that didn't achieve 10 rebounds in a game.
While this isn't a sign that the trio is destined for big things in the NBA, let alone with the Utah Jazz, it is at last a nice little footnote in the season we can look back at fondly, regardless of what happens next.
