The Utah Jazz as a team did not have the best season last year. The 2023-2024 season saw more of the same meddling from the front office, trading away key assets and sitting others. All moves that hurt the team's ability to win. An ability that they had without a doubt. They were above .500 just before the NBA Trade Deadline, and if it wasn't for the likes of Danny Ainge wanting more draft picks, the team likely would've made the Play-In Tournament at the very least.
A major reason why the team was so good was due to a core group of players that excelled offensively, defensively, or on both ends of the court. The team did have talent that could rival the best in the league. They just weren't nurtured or attended to like teams who have winning cultures.
Instead, they were traded away for pennies on the dollar or were sat on the bench on occasion with minor, yet seemingly nagging injuries. These guys were the best the Jazz had to offer and had the desire to compete from the front office been there, we likely would've seen far more out of this group than just 31 wins.
So while they weren't a playoff team, we want to look at the five best players from the prior season. Not all of them played the whole year and not all of them will be back for the 2024-2025 season but these are the five names that most impressed us this past season.
