The NBA Playoffs are under way and they have been exciting so far. From buzzer-beating victories to sheer domination, the playoffs have been everything we've been hoping for and more. Yet, for Utah Jazz fans like ourselves, there isn't a lot to root for right now. The team will have a busy offseason, with plenty of things going on, but the team is currently in idling.
Waiting their turn for May and the NBA Draft Lottery to see if they can not only hold onto their draft pick but hope they get a better spot than expected. It's the beginning of what should be a wild offseason.
Still, the playoffs are happening and if you're not looking to waste time until the Draft Lottery, you may be soaking in the NBA Playoff fun, but who to root for? With thet Utah Jazz out, it's not very easy to know who we should root for, and honestly; we're not telling you who to cheer on beyond the Jazz.
We just have some teams we think make the most sense.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers' future will directly affect the Utah Jazz's future but while the Jazz wait for the Cavs' draft picks to arrive, there's no harm in rooting for former Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell busted his butt in Utah and while he did want out, you can't fault a man for wanting to have some say in his career. We don't have any ill will towards Mitchell here at the J-Notes and we're hoping one of our own can find some playoff success.
Minnesota Timberwolves
The same goes for Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Gobert has been one of the most disrespected players in the NBA for some time, but he's proven once again that he's a defensive catalyst who can change the flow of a game and the direction of a team. We're hoping for good things for Gobert.
Miami Heat
Aside from cheering for two of the hardest workers in Jimmy Butler and Kevin Love, we're suggesting the Heat because 1. they're playing the Boston Celtics (boo that team), and 2., Tyler Herro may get traded this offseason and we're still hoping if he does, he ends up in Salt Lake City. So we view this as more of an opportunity to cheer on a potential future Jazzman.
