3 stars the Jazz could acquire to entice Paul George to join the team
By Matt John
Brandon Ingram - New Orleans Pelicans
All the scuttlebutt is that Ingram will be on a new team this summer. After the Pelicans acquired Dejounte Murray, who does a lot of the same things that Ingram does on the court, Ingram's days as a Pelican are likely numbered.
Now, a potential Ingram has been criticized before. However, if the Jazz are serious about George and what they would have to do to bring him in, acquiring Ingram fits the bill. Ingram is an All-Star caliber player who has demonstrated his impressive abilities as a scorer and playmaker for his size.
His only conundrum is his defensive shortcoming and ability to stay healthy. However, a trio of George, Ingram, and Markkanen would give the Jazz an interchangeably offensively potent threesome who can exploit the opposition in different ways.
Acquiring Ingram would not make sense at all if the Jazz wanted to get younger, but if Plan A is George, then Ingram makes all the sense in the world.
