The Utah Jazz are swinging for the fences this offseason. In an unforeseen pre-free agency twist, the Jazz actually want to shoot their shot with Paul George. Yahoo Sports! Jake Fischer reported the Jazz's interest in George, and what they would be willing to do to get him.

"The Utah Jazz have all the cap space, veteran salaries, and exorbitant draft capital to add the type of co-stars — such as Mikal Bridges, once upon a time, whom the team attempted to land this week, sources said, before New York splurged six years of first-round draft assets for the Villanova product — to round out a roster that already features All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen. That appears to have been Utah’s dreamiest plot this summer, according to league figures with knowledge of the situation, trading for one or even two more bonafide pieces to then entice George to flee Los Angeles for Salt Lake City."

Could this union actually come to fruition? Reading the tea leaves, probably not. Forget Utah's reputation. After George opted out, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported who George would take meetings with. Guess who wasn't on the list...

The devil's advocate would say that the Jazz wouldn't do this if they didn't think they had a shot, but what stars could they go after to sway George to join them. We've already gone down the Zach LaVine road. Without re-hashing too much, the bottom line is, if the Jazz wanted LaVine, he'd be on the Jazz. by now.

So while LaVine is not an option until further notice, there are other stars the Jazz could look into to sway George.
