Kevin Love hilariously all but confirmed how the Jazz will use him this season

This was pretty funny, but also seemed pretty telling of what's coming this season.

A surprising but unproblematic development coming into this season was the Utah Jazz elected to keep Kevin Love when many thought a buyout was coming. That might very well be the case anyway, but with Love on the roster for the time being, he seemingly confirmed that the Jazz don't intend to play him much, if at all, this season.

While that's not going to shock the masses one bit, there was a pretty funny moment on opening night where the fans chanted for the team to play Love during garbage time. Love humorously walked up to head coach Will Hardy and covered his ears, which everyone got a kick out of.

All in all, it sounds like Love is simply happy to be here and could take or leave whether or not he's going to get minutes. Utah already has plenty of veteran bigs - Lauri Markkanen and Jusuf Nurkic - and young and upcoming bigs - Walker Kessler and Taylor Hendricks - so it's practical to assume that Love probably won't play unless Utah's frontcourt is heavily undermanned.

Judging by this interaction with Hardy, Love seems completely cool with that.

The Kevin Love era in Utah might be pretty fun

If that moment wasn't funny enough as is, Love shouted it out the day after the game.

This would insinuate that Love has embraced Utah, even if it means he won't play one minute on the parquet. It would be a fun change of pace to see a former NBA superstar embrace the Utah culture despite not playing, as it's been rare to see one do that in franchise history for the Jazz.

And for all we know, Love making the most out of this could be what keeps him in the NBA going forward, even if his role on the roster is simply to be a fun-loving vet who mentors the young players. Because Utah intends to lose, they don't have much to lose by having him take a roster spot.

Part of what turns a young team into a contender is having the right veteran pieces around in the locker room to help develop winning habits. It's been years since Love was last in his prime, but he was one of the NBA's best players at the peak of his powers and has plenty of playoff success to his name.

Because his time as a regular NBA player is pretty much up, he's just happy to still be in the show. More than that, he has seemingly embraced this next (and potentially last) phase of his career as an NBA player.
