The Utah Jazz are now 5-10, and their schedule is bound to get harder. It wouldn't be surprising if by mid-December, they are like 6-18, which would make them just about as bad record-wise last year. And yet, the Jazz wouldn't care because of how excited for what's to come. More specifically, they are stoked about what's to come from Ace Bailey.
During yesterday's episode of "The Hoop Collective," Windhorst revealed what Jazz personnel had to say about Bailey when he visited them not too long back. Per Windhorst, they couldn't believe that he fell into their lap at the draft.
"They were raving about Ace Bailey. Up and down, they love his makeup. They raved about his basketball intelligence... They are convinced that they were so lucky to get him at five... They were so pleased that he fell, they consider themselves lucky," Windhorst said.
Bailey's overall stats won't wow the crowds that much, but ever since the Jazz have gradually increased his role over time, he has rewarded their faith in him. Plus, it's becoming clear that should they give him a bigger role with more time (and there's no reason why they shouldn't), he should only get better from here.

Even when Bailey stumbled a tad out of the gate, the Jazz were still pretty optimistic about his prospects, and he's proved that they were right to remain patient with him. He may not look it now, but Bailey has given so many indications already that he's a superstar in the making.
The most impressive aspect of Bailey as a potential superstar
When the Jazz originally drafted Bailey, many saw him as primarily an elite wing scorer when he figured himself out. That may very well be what he's best known for when he reaches his prime. However, what's been the most impressive about Bailey has been his all-around game.
What many did not see coming is that Bailey is a pretty well-rounded player overall.

Being able to put the ball in the bucket is one thing, but being able to consistently make the right play is another. It's what separates a player from being Jordan Clarkson and being Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz probably won't ask Bailey to do everything for them, but Bailey has shown that there is so much more to his game than scoring.
It's why Bailey is getting rave reviews from former NBA superstars like Jazz teammate Kevin Love. It's why the Jazz are excited about their future. It's why Utah is more than comfortable having yet another crappy season.
Because even with the season young, the Jazz already know that Ace Bailey is him.
